Just started using a Pacific AR and I can't figure out how to get the computer timer to run past 6 minutes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wondered if anyone as retro fitted the Ergometer from the E316/520 on to the E216. If so was it straight forward plug and play. What benefits did you get, can you see workout averages and how many past workouts does it store. Lastly are there any pinouts like RS232, serial or usb.

thanks

I'm totally new to indoor rowing and after a lot of research I opted for the E-216 Fluid Rower. I like the way it feels but I'm having issues understanding the computer. Firtsly if you stop more than 10 seconds it resets this does not even give you enough time to log what it says. Secondly I can not figure out how to get an average out of the figures, it seems to only show the last stroke, surly something as simple as averaging your workout must be there. I want to know the average strokes per minute over my workout, average watts, calories etc. What I'm I missing, what are other fluid users doing to log and monior their progress.

NetAthlon software.

I thought I would post a review of this software for those that own any First Degree rower. I have the Atlantic rower and the lastest NetAthlon® 2XF rowing software. I am using Windows XP with a  7800gs video card. This was my gaming computer.

The software adds a video game experience by using 4 different courses with your boat in the water. There are views showing a virtual rower front, back and the tip of your boat. You can row against other virtual rowers and set their speed or watts. You can row against other real racers via the internet but I have not tried this.

While the software shows promise, there are issues. When you row, your virtual rower rows then the boat stops on the return. This is like watching a movie frame by frame. Video's that I have seen are showing the keyboard in action and not a rower. Using the keyboard shows a very smooth rowing action which is not the case in real life.

You can set up different profiles for other members of your household. The problem is the save function. If profile A rows and saves the past performance, that performance shows under all profiles. The past performance cannot be deleted from the program. You must exit the program, find where the files are being saved to and delete from that folder. The saves are in the courses folder.

The past performance can be used to help one improve or keep pace with the virtual rower. Using more then one profile you must write down the date and time of your last save so you do not delete the wrong save for the other profiles. This set up needs works.

There is an email and phone number listed for support. I left 2 phone messages and sent 3 emails and never recieved a reply from support. I was able to talk to Bruce at sales a number of times who was very helpful. While the above issues have not been fixed, some progress is being made.

The graphics are very good and does give you a feel for being in the water. Maybe over time updates will correct the save, delete and rowing issues.

Hi, I just purchased a used E520 and have not found chlorine tablets online. Does anyone know where to buy them? Can pool chlorine tablets be used- If so, what size/strength?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi, just purchased an FDR-02 model hardly used at all! I'm 25 and am trying to tone my body, I figured a rower would be a great low impact full body workout. My issue is I need to find chlorine tablets, does it matter what size/kind. I've found 1" pool tablets, spa pellets, and liquid chlorine, is there a specific type. If anyone can answer I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I'm new here. I have an FDR-02 (520) that I've had for a few years now and have only used a few times. (I'm one of those sedentary types I guess) My wife is a workout and fitness enthusiast and I try once in a while to join her.

Now I'm going to try again.

I have been rowing for about a decade and a half. Just for fitness and fun. My first years on a Bowflex Power Pro and then I invested in a Concept 2 to improve the experience. In 2007 I was introduced to fluid rowers. It was love at first feel. The experience truely transformed my enjoyment both in the actual physical feel of the realistic, natural motion, but also in the emotional connection because of the beautiful, soothing sound of the water moving inside the tank. It was only after rowing on the fluid rower that I found out how to row correctly (the others just can't provide the correct mechanics to do the exercise safely or correctly). I am hooked. What an incredible total body workout! Wether I want to go at my most intense or just have an easy recovery day it always provides the perfect workout. I see your company uses a slogan "Practice Perfect". My dad used to tell me that Vince Lombardi (Green Bay Packers Head Coach...many moons ago) used to say "Practice does not make perfect, PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT". Your slogan is more than just words it is a promise that your rower keeps to me everytime I use it. Thank you First Degree for making good on your promise to only produce the very best.

Understanding trends and their impact on people can be one of the best sources to refine or innovate how you help people. How many of you look at trends? What are some you see and feel are important for the fitness industry?

There seems to be a modest level of awareness among people of all ages about the benefits of low impact solutions. One theory that contrasts the still current notion that one must beat themselves up in their workouts to perform better…is that the opposite is true. Push the body to its limits when actually competing but prepare the body in training, rather than beating it up. Many are realizing that doing both wears the body out versus building it up. What are your thoughts?
